Security for a day

Microsoft doesn’t send out of band patches (that’s patches not in the monthly patch Tuesday batch release) and a webcast on an alert very often, so it’s worth paying attention when they do.

The patch requires a reboot, so be warned planning needs to be in any workplace for the outages.

Forefront and the other AV vendors have signatures of the known malware, but I’m sure this will be quickly outpaced by the malware writers.

Patch and make sure your firewalls are filtering the traffic. It’s worth pointing friends and family to download the patch now. NOW!

The Internet Storm Centre have a good starting point for further details on the story and have bumped their Threat level up to Yellow!
